The title is drawn from the idea that Matt is still in his "freshman" year of publishing and releasing his songs, and 61 is simply that he started the whole thing in his 61st year. Better late than never! The album features some killer tracks, with Matt's writing showing more complexity and sophistication as he continues to hone his craft.
